Forehead Lift FAQ
At Romanelli Cosmetic Surgery, we perform brow lift or forehead lift surgery to correct drooping brows and forehead wrinkles. Women and men from New York City and Long Island come to us for answers to their questions about this and other procedures. In order to help their prospective patients gain a deeper understanding of forehead lift surgery, Dr. Romanelli, Dr. Pincus, and Dr. Layliev have developed a list of answers to questions that they often hear from forehead lift patients.
If you're considering a forehead lift on Long Island, request a consultation online, or give our office a call at (631) 424-3600.
Who can benefit from forehead lift surgery?
A forehead lift can address many common concerns specific to the upper region of the face, including:
- Creases across the forehead or between the eyes
- Frown lines, or vertical wrinkles between the eyes
- A low or sagging brow that may make you look tired or angry
Though forehead lift surgery is typically performed to correct age-related sagging and wrinkles, it can also be performed on younger adults who have a naturally low-set brow.
How do I know if I need a forehead lift or eyelid surgery?
While forehead lift surgery addresses the concerns listed above, eyelid surgery addresses issues such as sagging upper or lower eyelids, puffiness and bags, and excess eyelid skin or fat in the orbital area. The two procedures are sometimes performed together for a complete renewal of the upper face.
How much does a forehead lift cost?
It's difficult to price a forehead lift and other cosmetic procedures over the Internet, since their costs can vary depending on the needs of the patient. At Romanelli Cosmetic Surgery, our pricing is as expected for accomplished plastic surgeons. When you come in for your consultation, we will give you a quote for the cost of your procedure. Facial cosmetic surgery is not a commodity product which is chosen based on price. You should choose a plastic surgeon with appropriate training, a good reputation, and plenty of photos of the excellent work he or she has done.
Can I combine a forehead lift with other procedures?
Yes. Although a forehead lift can create beautiful results on its own, it can also be performed in conjunction with other surgical or med spa procedures for a more complete transformation. Other procedures that are commonly performed at the same time as a forehead lift include eyelid surgery, face lift, and injectable dermal fillers.
When can I return to my regular activities following a forehead lift?
Recovery time and experience can vary from patient to patient, but most people are able to return to work and other regular activities after about a week. Immediately following the surgery, which is performed on an outpatient basis, you'll be instructed to rest at home with your head elevated for 2 to 3 days. The majority of swelling and bruising will typically diminish over the next 2 weeks.
What will my scars look like?
Scarring largely depends on the type of brow lift performed. Incisions may be made behind the hairline and over the top of the head, above the ears, or along the hairline. During your consultation, Dr. Romanelli, Dr. Pincus, or Dr. Layliev will evaluate your brow and make an incision recommendation based on your skin laxity and other factors.
