Revision of Prior Breast Surgeries Case #176
Case #176 Details
This 35 year old, fit professional came to our office to discuss the correction of a 4 years prior breast augmentation (with another surgeon). In the interim, she had lost 30 lbs over a 6 month period, which led to some unwanted changes in the breasts. The implants themselves, which were saline, had some visible rippling. She wanted Dr. Romanelli’s opinion on the best way to achieve the improvement she was seeking.
Upon examination, Dr. Romanelli found her to be an excellent candidate for a remove and replace procedure, changing the implants in size (bigger) and to silicone gel. After some discussion and trial sizing was done, they decided on smooth moderate high projection implants, 495 ccs.
Surgery was less than one hour. Her smooth round saline implants, labeled 375 cc’s (filled to 400 cc’s) were removed and the new implants placed. The patient’s recovery was quite easy, as is the case with most remove and replace patients. This is due to the original stretch of the pectoralis muscle occurring mainly in the initial breast augmentation procedure.
Her results are exactly what the patient had hoped for. We are as always, thrilled to be a part of her successful transformation!
