Depending on your selected surgery and your insurance coverage, your Long Island plastic surgery procedure will be performed either in the surgical suite of Romanelli Cosmetic Surgery, which is an AAAASF-certified ambulatory care facility, or just a few blocks away at Huntington Hospital, a member of the North Shore University-Long Island Jewish Health System.
If your inpatient procedure requires you to stay in our office recovery suite or at the hospital, you'll receive some of the best care available on Long Island. Your plastic surgeon and our team of compassionate nurses will ensure that you remain comfortable and safe during the crucial postoperative period.
Follow-up care is done on an outpatient basis. If they are in place, drains and sutures will be removed approximately 1 week after your procedure. Some surgeries, such as abdominoplasty, may require a compression garment to be worn for at least 2 weeks. Be sure you give yourself plenty of time to rest and recuperate at home — up to 2 weeks in some cases. Our doctors encourage patients not to resume any activities until they feel ready.
For Out-of-Town Patients
If you're planning to travel for a procedure with a Romanelli plastic surgeon on Long Island, our team is happy to arrange nearby accommodations for you for up to 1 week after your surgery. We will work with you to schedule your follow-up appointment at a convenient time around 6 weeks after your surgery.
