When you feel young and vibrant inside, you want that radiance to show on the outside, as well. A facelift can be a great option to reveal your inner vitality in Long Island. Let’s take a look at what’s involved.
Consultation: Dr. Romanelli understands that a natural look is highly important for facial surgery, so he spends a lot of time in consultation discussing your goals and planning ways to tailor your procedure to your specific needs. You’ll talk about how extensive you want your results to be, incision locations, and other details. At this point, Dr. Romanelli will share with you his personalized approach to help you achieve the results you desire.
Procedure: Dr. Romanelli performs facelifts, which take about 2 hours, as outpatient procedures with general anesthesia. He makes tiny incisions around your hairline and ears, tightens underlying facial muscles carefully, and redrapes the skin. His goal is always smooth, natural-looking contours. Each procedure is as unique as the patient receiving a facelift, so depending on your personalized procedure, there may be more incisions made.
Recovery: Recuperation times vary between patients, but most people return to their normal activities in about 2 weeks, with most bruising and swelling diminished. Within several weeks after surgery, you’ll go back to looking like your old self – only younger. Long-term results can last more than 10 years, and some of our patients even choose to maintain results with BOTOX® or other injectable fillers offered at our practice.
