Beauty for the Ages

Our plastic surgery practice on Long Island offers an array of cosmetic surgery options including facelift.

The desire to look beautiful is universal, and women of all ages can benefit from plastic surgery treatments and procedures at our Long Island practice. It’s never too early – or too late – to take advantage of today’s exciting innovations for looking your best.

Your 20s and 30s: Treat and Prevent

For women (and men) who want to correct and prevent even the earliest signs of aging, such as brow furrows, frown lines and nasolabial folds, dermal fillers and BOTOX® are excellent options.

Many people begin to see their expression lines becoming etched into their skin as early as their 20s. The deeper these dynamic wrinkles get, the more difficult it is to correct them. BOTOX Cosmetic softens lines such as crow’s feet, forehead furrows, and vertical frown lines by relaxing the muscles responsible for these wrinkles. And if the wrinkle isn’t there, it can’t get deeper. This is precisely the logic behind early and consistent BOTOX treatment for the prevention of deep wrinkles.

Facial fillers (JUVÉDERM® Injectable Gel, Restylane®, Perlane® and RADIESSE®) work a little differently, but offer many of the same benefits for younger patients. These injectables add temporary volume to areas such as the cheeks and lips and fill lines such as nasolabial folds. Again, by keeping the skin smoother, some patients find that the deepening of these lines and folds progresses more slowly and they maintain a youthful look for longer.

Your 40s and Beyond: Time for a Mini Facelift?

While dermal fillers and BOTOX can do a lot for patients in their 20s and 30s, a mini face lift at our practice may be a more lasting and cost-effective option for those in their 40s who are no longer satisfied with the results they get from injectables.

Some age-related concerns, especially those in the lower face, will eventually exceed the limitations of injectable treatments. As the skin thins and loses elasticity, nasolabial folds and marionette lines become increasingly prominent, as do sagging cheeks and drooping at the corners of the mouth. At this point, continuing to pay for dermal filler injections may not be money well spent. The anterior or mini facelift is designed for people at just this stage in the aging process.

This modified version of a facelift uses smaller incisions, has a shorter procedure and recovery time, and costs less than its traditional counterpart. With results that last several years, for many women in their 40s, a mini face lift makes more sense than nonsurgical options.
