What Inspires Women to Have Plastic Surgery?

plastic surgery long island

One of the best things about performing plastic surgery at my Long Island practice is that I get to experience my patients’ reactions when they see their final results. This instant of joy and excitement marks the end of a journey that, for most women, starts with a single “aha moment.”

This “aha moment,” as described in a recent RealSelf article, is the trigger that spurs a woman to have a plastic surgery procedure. For many of my patients, there are a few motivating factors at play in that moment, including waning confidence, signs of aging, and poor results from prior procedures.

Lack of Confidence

A woman’s self-confidence is an important part of her decision to have plastic surgery. Whether she has extra skin after a significant weight loss or unfamiliar lumps and bumps after childbirth, a woman may feel unhappy with her body and contours. These changes in appearance can be difficult to adjust to and practically impossible to reverse without the help of surgery. By helping a woman achieve her ideal appearance, I can enable her to regain the confidence and comfort she deserves.

Aging

Another common reason for plastic surgery is signs of aging, including sagging breasts, sunken cheeks, or bags under the eyes that can make a woman appear much older than she feels. The proper treatment can help her look as young and rejuvenated as she feels inside.

Weak Results From Prior Procedures

Many women also seek to improve the results they got from prior cosmetic procedures at other practices. Whether they were dissatisfied with their initial outcome or they simply need to freshen up after a number of years, I’m always happy to help them with revisionary surgery.

If you have recently had that “aha moment,” I invite you to explore my RealSelf profile, where I have answered a number of questions about different procedures. Even if you feel your concern is uncommon, you might be surprised to find you are not alone and that I can offer a number of solutions.
