Remarkably, there is usually very little pain during recovery from a face lift. Long Island patients should expect some swelling and bruising which will usually diminish within 2 weeks of your surgery. Swelling is variable, but most facial rejuvenation patients are comfortable seeing friends for dinner at 2 weeks. You will experience some numbness, particularly in front of the ear, but this will diminish over weeks and months.
Since Dr. Romanelli takes special care to place his incisions within the hairline or in the natural creases of your skin, most scars will be hidden. Any visible scars can be covered with makeup. Your scars will be pink after the sutures are removed, and will generally mature into minimal white scars after a few months.
