All surgery demands precision, but this is especially true of eyelid surgery. As such, the facial procedure is usually performed using a very fine electrocautery, which combines low voltage electricity with a continuous current to produce heat. Typically, Dr. Romanelli will make a fine incision along the natural fold in your eyelid. Then, he will gently separate skin from its underlying fatty tissue and muscle. Finally, extra skin and fat will be removed (and/or repositioned), and very fine sutures will be used to close the incision.
An eyelid lift is a delicate procedure so you'll want to find an experienced surgeon you can trust, one who will take the time to listen to your goals while thoroughly discussing in detail the facial procedure. Call board certified plastic surgeon, Dr. James Romanelli today at (631) 424-3600.
