Whether or not we realize it, we subject our skin to some pretty harsh conditions. Sun, wind, dry interior air, and humid summers can tap out our collagen and moisture reserves. As we age, our bodies' natural ability to replenish these important elements diminishes, leaving behind problem skin and wrinkles. Injectable fillers such as JUVÉDERM®, Restylane®, JUVÉDERM VOLUMA® and RADIESSE®, can provide Long Island women and men with firmer, more supple facial features and subtle, natural-looking results.

Your Facial Filler Procedure
A typical facial filler procedure takes anywhere from 30 to 45 minutes and is performed in our Huntington office. Dr. James Romanelli, Dr. David Pincus, and plastic surgery physician assistant Joanne Vitale value patient comfort, so your procedure will begin with a topical anesthetic application to numb the treatment area. After your chosen filler is injected, an ice compress will be applied to alleviate soreness and prevent swelling.
Facial fillers require no downtime, so most patients are able to return to their normal activities right away.
Which facial filler is right for me?
At Romanelli Cosmetic Surgery, we offer a variety of FDA-approved facial fillers to ensure our clients receive safe, customized results. Your experienced plastic surgery professional will recommend one or more fillers depending on the areas you wish to treat.
How long will my results last?
The effects of a facial filler treatment are not permanent, although the duration of your results depends on which type of filler is used. Restylane lasts for approximately 6 to 9 months, while JUVÉDERM can last for 9 to 12 months or longer, and JUVÉDERM VOLUMA® can last up to 2 years. A RADIESSE treatment can last for as long as 18 months. The non-invasive nature of these products makes them a great choice for patients who aren't ready for a surgical plastic surgery procedure.
How are facial fillers different from BOTOX® Cosmetic?
Though they are both delivered via injection and achieve similar results, BOTOX Cosmetic is not a facial filler. BOTOX temporarily renders the underlying muscle inactive, allowing skin above to lie flat and smooth. Facial fillers use hyaluronic acid gel or other materials to fill in wrinkles and add plumpness to areas that have lost volume. Neither of these treatments is permanent, and your plastic surgery professional will help you determine which one is right for you.
