Mommy Makeover – Why Now is the Perfect Time

Many women find that their bodies change with motherhood. Pregnancy, childbirth, and breastfeeding can take their toll on the body, and even the healthiest, fittest moms may struggle with sagging breasts and a lax abdomen. The Mommy Makeover is a customized procedure designed to restore those areas most affected by pregnancy and breastfeeding – the tummy and the breasts. If you have been thinking about a Mommy Makeover and wondering when would be the right time, the answer is now.

There are many advantages to having your plastic surgery done in the early spring, especially for moms. The kids are in school, which allows you more time to focus on your recovery and after care. The colder weather and bulkier clothes make it easier to keep your plastic surgery "under wraps," if you wish. But perhaps the greatest motivator is that having your surgery now will give you ample time to recover before summertime.

Many of our Mommy Makeover patients report that they haven't worn a bathing suit since their pre-pregnancy years. Imagine how much more enjoyable your family vacations will be when you feel confident swimming or playing in the water with your children. You will feel more self-assured in summer's sundresses and tank tops, too, once you've gotten your more youthful, toned body back.

You have put others first for so long; it's time to do something for yourself. Schedule your Mommy Makeover now, and prepare for the best summer yet.

What Is a "Liquid" Facelift?

Cosmetic Surgery Model Image

The term "liquid facelift" has gotten a lot of media attention recently, but what does it really mean? A liquid facelift refers to the use of dermal fillers in combination with BOTOX® Cosmetic to achieve a smoother, plumper, more youthful looking face without surgery.

Dermal fillers such as Restylane®, Perlane®, RADIESSE® and JUVÉDERM® Injectable Gel, work by adding volume to the face in areas that have lost volume with age. While a face lift pulls skin and underlying tissue tighter to correct wrinkles and sagging, fillers create a more youthful appearance by filling and plumping specific areas. People who do not yet need a face lift, or who simply don't have the time or the money for one, may find dermal fillers a good option for temporarily restoring the fullness that we associate with youth.

BOTOX Cosmetic is a wrinkle treatment that works differently from dermal fillers. BOTOX causes certain muscles to relax, temporarily smoothing vertical frown lines, crow's feet and horizontal brow furrows, and even giving a subtle lift to the brow. BOTOX results are temporary (3-4 months), and this treatment cannot achieve the dramatic and lasting improvements seen with a forehead lift.

Combining BOTOX with dermal fillers can result in a noticeably younger, more refreshed looking face. BOTOX can create a smoother, softer looking eye and forehead area, while dermal fillers can plump up cheeks and lips and fill smile lines. When performed by an experienced plastic surgeon, a liquid facelift can be a convenient, cost-effective way to take years off of your appearance without surgery.

Liposuction Options You Might Not Have Considered

Do you spend hours at the gym trying to firm up your upper arms, but still find that you can't seem to get rid of that little jiggle above the elbow? Many women find this area particularly troublesome, and retain stubborn fat in the arms despite maintaining a normal, healthy weight. For some, it's a minor annoyance, but for others, excess fat in the upper arms keeps them in long sleeves, even during the heat of summer.

A relatively simple liposculpture procedure can help to bring your arms into better proportion with the rest of your figure. LipoLite™ is a body contouring treatment that is specifically designed for smaller areas, such as the upper arms. The tiny cannula used with LipoLite emits a targeted, powerful beam of laser energy that liquefies the fat cells in the treatment area, which are then suctioned away. The heat of the laser not only coagulates the blood vessels, reducing bleeding and bruising, but it also causes the tissue to contract, resulting in tighter skin.

The precision of LipoLite makes it ideal for smaller problem areas that previously could not be treated with traditional liposuction. It also works well for contouring the inner thighs and abdomen, and can be used to "fine tune" the results of traditional liposuction.

The reduced bruising and swelling with LipoLite means less discomfort and downtime for you. You can be back to work in 1-2 days, with full results emerging over 6-8 weeks.
