Breast Reduction Patients

Health insurance plans vary in their coverage of breast reduction, often based on how much breast tissue needs to be removed for an optimal result. We have extensive experience in obtaining coverage for breast reduction, and will work thoroughly on your behalf to achieve all possible benefits. You can assist this process by soliciting letters of support from your primary care doctor, as well as from any physicians or therapists who have treated you for back or neck pain.

For patients who are not covered under their insurance for breast reduction, private payment options, including financing, are available.

Breast Reconstruction Patients

Federal and New York State insurance regulations require health insurance plans to cover all phases of breast reconstruction following mastectomy for breast cancer. That includes reconstruction of the side treated for cancer, as well as any adjustments to the other breast which are needed to enhance symmetry. To maximize symmetry the other breast may be enlarged, or reduced, or lifted. We are your strong advocates in getting insurance approvals, including approvals for revisions to reconstructions that may have been done many years ago.

Weight Loss Patients

Fortunately, many health insurance plans cover abdominoplasty or panniculectomy after massive weight loss. Our pre-determination department will work thoroughly to help you obtain coverage by your insurance whenever possible. You can facilitate this process by bringing your documentation from your bariatric surgeon with you to your initial consultation with Dr. Romanelli.

While such procedures as buttock lift, thigh lift, and breast lift are not covered by insurance, the investment you make in revitalizing your appearance will yield satisfaction and self-assurance for years to come!
